The standard method used for correctly working out a value for a shop is called, “Zoning”. The shop is divided into a number of zones, each one a depth of 20 feet. Zone A holds the most value and is closest to the window, with the value decreasing with distance from the shop frontage. Then comes Zone B, which is the next 20 feet of space and half the value of Zone A. Further back still is Zone C, again half the value of Zone B. Anything beyond Zone C is known as ‘the remainder’.
