Expert Witness / Arbitrator / Independent Expert

Graves Son & Pilcher are regularly called upon to act as an Expert Witness. We are instructed on a wide range of property disputes including matrimonial settlements and rent reviews / lease renewals.  We are regulated by and comply with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and adopt Court and Tribunal protocol.

Colin Davies, a highly experienced Consultant and ex-Partner, is on the RICS President’s panel of Approved Arbitrators & Independent Experts for commercial property disputes. He is a Fellow of the RICS and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He has also previously been appointed by the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal to act as Manager / Receiver of residential leasehold properties. 

Graves Son & Pilcher act independently and professionally. We are either appointed by a single party or act as a joint Expert for opposing parties. In the case of commercial rent reviews, we are either appointed by the parties or the President of the RICS in accordance with the lease terms.

Our services include:

• Helping you understand property related issues
• Inspecting the property in question
• Compiling an Expert Witness report for use in court / tribunal
• Appearing in court / tribunal to give evidence and an expert opinion
• Liaising with the opposing Expert (if applicable)
